Postcards are a great way to keep in contact with family and friends. Prepaid postcards can be posted from any red post box located in Australia or at your local Post Office. They can be sent domestically, or worldwide. No stamp is required as the prepaid postcard includes postage, making it easier for you to stay in touch.
The three-metre-high Big Penguin greets visitors on the foreshore of the small town of Penguin, located on the north coast of Tasmania on the traditional lands of the Tommeginne people. Made of ferro-cement and coated with fibreglass, the Big Penguin was erected in 1975 to commemorate the centenary of the proclamation of the township. Penguin was originally settled as a timber town in the 1860s and was named for the nearby rookeries of the world's smallest penguin, the Little Penguin Eudyptula novaehollandiae, which reaches just 30 centimetres in height. Perhaps the statue should be called the Big Little Penguin!
