The EAP/WAP Portal provides online wellbeing resources

Accessing information and support online may be a good starting point or a more comfortable approach for some people. The EAP/WAP Portal provides information online covering a range of topics such as childcare and parenting issues, work-related problems, dealing with depression and career development.

You can also access self-assessment tools to help gauge your wellbeing. Online counselling is also available, allowing you or a family member to communicate privately with a counsellor without face-to-face contact.

Why is Australia Post providing this program?

We are committed to creating a healthy workplace for all our people, and our Principal Contractors, Licensees, sub-contractors and their employees are an integral and valued part of our workforce.

A range of support services are available to our employees as part of the EAP, so we are extending these services to our Principal Contractors, Licensees, sub-contractors, their employees and their immediate family members via the WAP.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can use the service?

Yes, eligible individuals can access up to six sessions a year for both counselling and Manager Assist, at no cost to the individual.

Eligible individuals can also access a further six sessions of coaching services, which include any of the following – Career Assist, Conflict Assist, Nutrition and Lifestyle assist, Money Assist and Family Assist.

Do I have to use the EAP/WAP?

Your manager may suggest the EAP/WAP to you, but the decision to use this service is yours. If you need to go to appointments during work time, you don’t need to tell your manager what the counselling is about.

Who provides the counselling?

The counselling is provided by an independent, professional organisation called Converge International. All counsellors are qualified, experienced professionals who specialise in counselling, coaching and workplace consulting.

Do I need to advise Converge that I am a Principal Contractor or sub-contractor?

Yes, the Converge International consultant will ask some preliminary questions to identify whether you are a contractor, sub-contractor, licensee or Australia Post employee.

Do I need to seek approval from Australia Post to access a EAP/WAP service?

No, you can contact Converge International directly without seeking any approval from Australia Post.

Does this change our current process for trauma and critical incidents?

No, there is no change to the existing process. Delivery/Facility Managers should continue to contact Converge International (our EAP and WAP provider) and ensure support services are offered to the Principal Contractor, sub-contractor or their employee and any impacted personnel as they do today.
