Our energy efficiency initiatives so far

  • Nationwide solar installation

New solar panel installation on facilities increased our production of renewable electricity by more than 27% compared to prior years. The electricity we generate via rooftop solar represents close to 5% of the electricity used by our property portfolio.

  • LED lighting

We continue to install LED lights at industrial sites that deliver a significant reduction in electricity use and carbon emissions.

  • Better energy efficiency

A range of energy saving initiatives across our buildings and facilities deliver both commercial and environmental benefits, reducing electricity usage and carbon impact.

Renewable electricity

We’re a founding partner in the Melbourne Renewable Energy Project (MREP), which has brought together 14 organisations.

Under a long-term power purchase agreement, each member has committed to purchasing a combined 88 GWh of electricity per year, from the Crowlands Wind Farm.

The 39 turbine wind farm has a total capacity equivalent to powering 17,600 households and saving 96,800 tonnes in greenhouse gas emissions.

We've also increased our investment in GreenPower renewable electricity to help decrease emissions. By purchasing 100% GreenPower across 500 locations in FY23, we're continuing to invest in Renewable Energy Certificates to help meet our 2025 Sustainability Roadmap targets.
