To receive proof of posting, your Registered Post or International Post Registered item must be lodged over the counter at a Post Office. Your lodgement receipt will be postmarked as proof of posting.
If a Registered Post item is posted in a street posting box it will not have proof of posting.
To ensure your domestic Registered Post item is only delivered to the addressee, you can affix a pre-paid person-to-person label to your envelope.
Using these labels means that ID will be requested and the item will only be handed over to the intended recipient. These labels are available from Post Offices for use with Registered Post for an additional fee.
