Get more from our range of letter services

Choose from our letter sending services, including prepaid envelopes with tracking, proof of posting and options for sending non-urgent letters overseas.

1 While we will endeavour to meet this timetable, the actual delivery speed will depend on where in each state or territory the item is being posted from and to, and the level of restrictions and congestion in our delivery network at the relevant time.

2 Next business day delivery is only available within the Express Post next business day delivery network. The national next business day delivery network operates between capital cities (excluding Darwin; and for Perth, delivery into the CBD only) and some major centres. Express eParcel is not covered in the Express Post guarantee.

3 Estimated delivery times apply between metro areas of major cities for items classified as low value and low risk that are pre-cleared through customs. Delivery time excludes time in customs if applicable, and may be subject to delays due to causes outside of Australia Post’s control. For more information, check our International post guide and International delivery times and destination guide.

4 Additional charges apply for some services. Signature on Delivery is not available in all countries. For more information, check our International post guide.

5 Tracking is not available for all countries. For more information, check our International post guide.

6 Our services generally come with up to $100 compensation included. Additional charges apply for Extra Cover. Extra Cover provides you with cover for the specified value of your item (up to $5,000 or part thereof), except for Economy Air letters and Economy Air parcels, which can have a maximum cover of up to $500. This cover applies if your item is lost or damaged while being carried by Australia Post. View optional extras for more information.

Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, Australia Post does not accept liability for any consequential or indirect loss or damage arising due to any failure related to our service. Neither the compensation included with our service nor the purchase of Extra Cover limits any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Extra Cover is not available for all countries, and cover restrictions may vary by destination. For more information, check our International post guide.
