Bulk mail changes
From 3 March 2025 a fee will be introduced for non-conforming bulk mail lodgements. And from 1 July 2025 Clean Mail will no longer be available. Instead, customers will be able to lodge mail as PreSort Letters Unbarcoded.

What you can send
To qualify for Promo Post, your articles must be promotional in nature. Your articles will also need to meet the following weight, size and thickness requirements:

As an existing PreSort customer, you can lodge Promo Post articles at any time, as long as the Promo Post criteria is met.

How to use Promo Post
Using Promo Post is straightforward and involves just three steps: Assess, prepare and lodge.
1. Assess your articles
To qualify for Promo Post rates, your articles must be promotional in nature. You can check whether your articles qualify for Promo Post rates by using our Promo Post Classification table (PDF 61kB). If your article type isn't listed in the guide, or you're unsure of the classification of an article, you can do one of the following:
- Email an image of both your article and the outer envelope to bulkmailproducts@auspost.com.au
- Lodge articles using our PreSort Letters service
2. Prepare your mail
You or your mail house need to prepare your Promo Post articles. If you need a mail house to help you, check our list of Bulk Mail Partners.
For detailed instructions on how to prepare and sort your articles, refer to the PreSort Letters Service Guide (PDF 1.62MB).
If you're unsure whether your mail meets the service requirements for addressing, you can email us a sample of your letter. We'll provide feedback within three working days.
3. Lodge your mail
Simply submit the required information through our Electronic Lodgement of Mailing Statements system (e-LMS). Alternatively, you can take your completed Promo Post lodgement document (PDF 90kB) with your articles and two unsealed samples, including their envelope, to your closest approved lodgement facility1.
