We offer a next business day guarantee if you post your item within our Express Post next business day delivery network on a business day (Monday to Friday) and meet the Express Post service conditions.1
Items should generally be lodged in our yellow street posting boxes before 4pm.

You can send up to 22kg, up to 105cm length, and up to 0.25 cubic metres within Australia.
Postage for parcels over 5kg up to 22kg is based on the weight or cubic weight (whichever is greater4) and the destination.

You can still use Express Post for delivery to or from areas that fall outside the Express Post network.
While next day delivery is not guaranteed, your item will still be processed, handled and delivered as fast as possible.

Items up to 22kg that are too large or heavy to fit in a satchel can still be sent by Express Post. Simply attach an Express Post parcels label to your pre-packaged item. Postage varies by weight and destination. Labels are available through Post Offices and via MyPost Business

While next business day delivery is not guaranteed, your item will still be processed, handled and delivered as fast as possible. 'Contact sender' means your item has been returned to the sender.
This can happen if we couldn't process the item for the following reasons:
- Some of the details were wrong or were incomplete.
- We weren't able to deliver the item. We sent a collection notification, but no one picked it up in 10 business days.
- Some of the details the sender gave us when they posted the item were wrong or weren’t complete.
If this happens, we’ll let the sender know why the item has been returned to them.
You should contact the sender to organise redelivery.

1 Next business day delivery is only available within the Express Post next business day delivery network. The national next business day delivery network operates between capital cities (excluding Darwin; and for Perth, delivery into the CBD only) and some major centres. Express eParcel is not covered in the Express Post guarantee.
2 Parcel Post and Express Post comes with up to $100 compensation included. Additional charges for Extra Cover apply. Extra Cover provides you with cover for the specified value of your item (up to $5,000 or part thereof) if your item is lost or damaged while being carried by Australia Post. Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, Australia Post does not accept liability for any consequential or indirect loss or damage arising due to any failure related to our service. Neither the compensation included with our service nor the purchase of Extra Cover limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

4 For parcels where you use your own packaging or any other packaging, which is not eligible for the national flat rates for postage based on size, Australia Post will assess charges according to the actual weight or cubic weight equivalent of the parcel, whichever is greater.
