Australia Post is committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Since 1988, Australia Post has had a formal partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, beginning with our first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment program. Today we remain committed to providing careers and development programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We do this through:

  • Several pathways into Australia Post, including a successful school based and adult Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traineeship and apprenticeship program, as well as employment opportunities such as the graduate program.
  • Improving the representation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples across our workforce, and seeking population parity as a benchmark.
  • A membership with Supply Nation, a program that connects Australian corporate and government entities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.
  • Our dedicated Indigenous Employee Network, Mob@Post.

Through our employee cultural awareness and training program, we aim to ensure our employees receive knowledge, support and development. This increases their respect and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ history, culture and connection to communities. For more information on how Australia Post is committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, read our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (PDF 18MB).
