Find out about delivery in full on time, or DIFOT: a metric used to check how the final steps in a supply chain are performing.
Video: The Australia Post logo sits at the top of a red screen. A brunette woman sits under the text, "eCommerce Jargon Busters: DIFOT."
Audio: Woman: DIFOT actually sounds like a hot guy's name if I'm honest, like at the gym. “Hey, DIFOT.”
Video: The woman reads from a card that has an Australia Post logo on the back. Later, the text she's reading is typed onto a red background.
Audio: Woman: DIFOT stands for delivery in full on time. DIFOT is a metric used to track how often parcels are arriving in good condition in the correct quantities and within the estimated timeframe.
Video: The woman shakes her head.
Audio: Woman: I'm a bit sad that DIFOT isn't a hottie.
Video: Before a red background a microphone hovers over a stool. An Australia Post card lies on the stool. Text reads, “eCommerce Jargon Busters. [Jah-gawn bust-uhz] noun + plural noun.”
The Australia Post logo appears just above the stool.
DIFOT stands for Delivery In Full On Time.
It’s a metric used to track how well the final steps in a business’s supply chain are performing.
The first part of the metric – delivery in full – looks at whether parcels are arriving in good condition, in the correct quantities and are accepted by the customer.
The ‘on time’ part of DIFOT refers to the customer receiving the order within the estimated delivery timeframe.
DIFOT is a key metric for Australia Post, StarTrack and many of our business customers.
However, not every business formally measures DIFOT – it’s usually a metric that’s monitored by businesses with large parcel volumes or complex delivery needs.
A DIFOT score is presented as a percentage. A high percentage of deliveries in full on time (DIFOT) is a measure of success for this part of a business’s supply chain performance.
Looking at the DIFOT score regularly is a good way for businesses and delivery partners to identify opportunities together for continuous improvement.
Contract customers can have their DIFOT reports sent directly to them via the Business Support Portal.
When this isn’t available, you can ask your Account Manager for assistance or calculate your DIFOT inhouse.
From automating label creation to booking parcel pickups, MyPost Business is designed to help eCommerce businesses save time and money.
