Across November and December, Australians shopped in record numbers, with 7.9 million (+4.3%) households buying online and contributing to the record over 110 million (+7.6%) parcels delivered by Australia Post.

Many Aussies businesses kicked off their Cyber Sales promotions in early November, and over Cyber Weekend alone, we saw online purchases grow 6.3% year on year.

That surge flowed straight into our network, culminating in our busiest day of the season on 8 December, when we delivered 3.3 million parcels in a single day.

Across the season we were proud to offer shoppers more choice, convenience and speed – and we saw that reflected in more Aussies using the Australia Post app, more businesses offering our next day Metro service and a record number of people using our parcel lockers for flexible collections and returns.

Peak season is where partnership matters most, and this year, it truly showed. To our eCommerce customers, thank you for trusting us to help deliver for your shoppers at the busiest time of year.
