The 2024 Inside Australian Online Shopping Report is now live, providing exclusive insights into how Aussies shopped online in 2023.

Some key findings:

  • 9.5 million households shopped online in the past year, that’s 82% of all Australian households, up 1.4% year-on-year (YoY).
  • Consumers chose to make more frequent but smaller purchases, with an average basket size of $98.10, down by 4.6% from last year.
  • Black Friday was this year’s standout event, seeing a huge 88% leap in number of online purchases compared to 2019.
