Paul Graham meet with Australian Red Cross team members recently and received a personalised pillowcase created by children in WA’s Pillowcase Workshops – a touching reminder of the thoughtfulness, resilience and creativity in our communities.
Australian Red Cross Pillowcase Workshops help children prepare for emergencies such as natural disasters. Through our partnership with the Australian Red Cross, we help deliver 6,000 workshops annually in Australia. This includes remote WA communities, reaching 1,585 children across 74 workshops.
The workshops have become a key education program in places like Derby - WA, which was heavily impacted by Cyclone Ellie in 2023, with Derby District High School adapting the program to be locally relevant and support students who speak languages other than English at home.
Thank you to Alan Firth, Nichola Krey and Mat Bristow from Australian Red Cross for visiting Australia Post to share the impact of this important program. It’s a great example of how our partnership continues to support communities in meaningful ways.
