Today, Australia Post announced an interim profit of $249.1 million, an increase of $215.5 million on 1H24. This result was driven by a record Peak period and the successful delivery of the Post26 transformation initiatives.

Despite the improved performance, we continue to face significant structural and competitive challenges. The Parcels business and Letters service continue to head in opposite directions, with Parcels experiencing solid growth, and Letters volumes remaining on a downward trajectory. While we delivered more than 262 million parcels across Australia during the half, our Letters volumes declined by 98.2 million.

Australia Post is progressing with the Government’s modernisation reforms, which have improved performance and financial sustainability. However, further reform is essential for long-term sustainability. We thank all our team members for making these improved results possible, and we also appreciate the continued support of our customers and communities.
