On World Post Day on 9 October, we’re calling on all Australians to do their part in protecting our Posties.
With a worrying 30% rise in Posties injured by third-party drivers, road safety is more important than ever.
The main culprits? Speeding, distracted driving, and failing to give way—all actions that can lead to serious consequences. While we’ve taken steps to enhance safety, such as installing telematics, we need your help to keep our Posties safe.
Here are a few simple ways you can make a difference:
- Slow down when approaching roundabouts
- Put your phone away while driving
- Check your mirrors and blind spots
- Reverse carefully out of driveways and give a quick toot
- Maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead
