Deceased estates

If you’re the executor or administrator of an estate, or a family member if these roles were not appointed, you may be eligible.

Family and domestic violence

You may be eligible if you’ve been impacted by family and domestic violence.

You can also apply for a free PO Box for up to 23-months.

Natural disasters

If a major natural disaster within Australia impacts your mail delivery, you may be eligible. We'll let affected residents in the region know if this is available to them.

How to apply

Apply in-person at any Post Office in Australia, with the following documentation:

All applicants

Family and domestic violence

  • A completed PO Box application form if you’d like to apply for a free PO Box. Read about our free PO Boxes.

Natural disaster

  • Proof of identity showing an address within the region of the natural disaster, as declared by Australia Post.

Deceased estates

  • A copy of the grant of probate or letter of administration showing that the person lodging the application is an executor or administrator of the estate, or a family member if no executor or administrator has been appointed.
