The next step on our sustainability journey

Our 2030 Sustainability Framework sets ambitious yet realistic goals that will evolve how we operate and serve our customers and communities over the next five years. It keeps us focused on today’s priorities and sets us up for the future as we work towards targeting Net Zero emissions by 2050.

This isn't just about reducing our impact; we want to explore how our national infrastructure can help create positive change for every community and every business we serve.

Our 2030 Sustainability Framework

We're focusing on two areas where we can accelerate change: reducing carbon emissions and keeping resources in use, so we can remain a reliable, modern service for every community and every business we support.

  • Reducing carbon emissions

We’re already on our decarbonisation journey.

Next, we’ll tackle the more challenging and complex areas, to further reduce carbon emissions as we work towards targeting Net Zero emissions by 2050.

  • Keeping resources in use

We're transforming our thinking from a ‘take-make-waste’ model to a more circular system where we use less, use longer, and use again.

We’ll also explore how we can help all Australians keep resources in use.

How we're delivering for the future

  • Circular Clothing Service

We launched a pilot program for R.M. Williams’ customers with support from Seamless.

For a limited time, R.M. Williams’ customers were able to recycle shirts and t-shirts (from any brand) at the end of their useful life.

The pilot has now ended – stay tuned for future updates.

  • Reducing the impact of our packaging range

We’re working to reduce the environmental impact of our packaging while making sure it stays fit for purpose and keeps parcels safe. We consider durability, protection and resource use, and we’re exploring new options that balance outcomes across all three.

  • Our pathway to target Net Zero by 2050

Our 2030 Sustainability Framework will contribute to Australia’s goals, including the national target to reduce carbon emissions to Net Zero by 2050.
